Hello all my wonderful fuzzy friends...
Seriously I couldn't sleep last night. My skin was all clamy and yucky and I still feel sick. This PMS stuff is seriously demented. Although I don't have it as bad as some people. There was this girl in my Nutrition class this summer who got it so bad that she even had black outs. They made her go to the hospital. I guess she was like really anemic so getting her period made her iron levels way too low. The weird thing is that she was a nurse. I wouldn't have liked to have her for a nurse, if she can't figure out when she needs help herself what good is she to me?
Anyway I am skipping my Children's Lit 2 Class and I'm totally pissed about it. I really want to go but alas the bloating, shakey, flu like symptoms that I have are keeping me bound to my bed. Plus the sleepiness too. Oh the Sleepiness. I finished my home work and e-mailed it to my Professor like 2 minutes before class was supppose to start. I don't know if he will get it but at least I turned it in before class so I should get full credit. I think I really screwed up my first paper though. We had to write about how Harry Potter changed in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire but I just couldn't focus when I was writing it.
So I've decided to post all of my papers that I've written for Children's Lit 2 here because I like them and I think they are pretty good. I'm also hoping that after you read them that you will comment on them. When I post I new one I will add an entry here giving you the write-up that I had to use to write the paper with.
Each paper is suppose to be 250-300 words I always seem to go over though.
Anyway here are the first four papers. The prompt is after the title of each book and was written by Professor McLaughlin at BHCC:
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: Toward the end of the book when talking to the Mack Turtle and the Grypon, Alice says, "I could tell you my adventures...but it's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then" (122). Is this so? Has Alice changed? If so, in what ways? Besure to give examples. If you think she hasn't changed, explain why.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (ch 1-14): Based on what you have read so far, what is your assessment of this book? If you like the book, what is it about the book that you enjoy? If you don't care for the book at this point, what is it about the book that you don't care for? (You don't have to be "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" at this point. There maybe be aspects of the book that you care for and other parts that you don't. That's okay. YOu can bring both sides into your discussion.)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (completed): How has Harry changed by the end of the book? Compare the Harry we find in the beginning of the book to the Harry at the end of the book.
Out of the Dust: Acts of Courage: Billie Joe and the others face many grave difficulties in this story. In your opinion, which character in this story shows the greatest courage? What does he or she do?
And that's it for now. I'll probably post more later tonight. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do for dinner. I went to one Chinese resturant last night. Not the same one that I always go to and it was okay but they didn't give me as much food and charged me more. The reason I went there was because I tried calling ahead to the other place and the person who picked up didn't speak English so they just hung up. At first I used to get mad but then I finally understood that there are a total of two hosts there that speak English. I mean the menu is actually written in Chinese not in English. But I love that place.
It was Sunday night though. And that place is packed on Sundays so I was not going to go there when I couldn't call ahead. Big mistake. Next time I don't care if I have to wait a half hour. I'll just bring my book. The little old woman there always gives me green tea so it's worth it. I'll probably go there tonight.
